Everyone uses them but not everyone wants to think about them. Why is it important to have a fixed cleaning and sanitizing plan for your restrooms?

Did you know that the actual toilet seat is usually the cleanest part of a restroom? I know hard to believe right? But studies show that due to people constantly wiping the seat and janitorial crews disinfecting, the seat has the least amount of bacteria.

You need to be more worried about the area around the toilet. Due to public toilets not having a lid every time it is flushed it releases thousands of germs into the surrounding area including ” fecal-borne diseases, like E. coli, Norovirus, Salmonella, or Shigella”, gross right?

It is extremely important that the entire area is sanitized properly, everything from the handrail to the walls.

What do you think is the most bacterial covered space in a restroom? Most people would think it’s the floor…that is incorrect. The area with the most germs is the sink and surrounding space. Not many people think about the sink handles and rim. Even though people are using them to wash their hands they are transferring massive amounts of bacteria straight to the handle for the next person to touch.
